The Terror-Tyranny Connection

"History has well substantiated the fact that, under the right conditions, fallen and foolish man has always given up independence and freedom, for even the illusion of peace and security. If society's great international architects can manufacture the precise conditions as in their adventures in Europe, all vestiges of freedom will fall in America".
Samuel L. Webster, 1935
When I went off-duty on the morning of September 11, I came home in time to see the WTC/Pentagon attacks on CNN (Communist News Network). I was riveted by what I was seeing as the towers came tumbling down, I saw the debris tumbling down from the Alfred P. Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City. I thought to myself, this is the big one the "right major crisis" spoken of by David Rockefeller: "We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order".1
So here it is. I saw it coming, especially the "Homeland Security" scam, because I gave a briefing to Indiana militia leaders back in August 2000. At the time, the military called it "Homelands Defense", but I knew this was what they were going to unveil in the weeks following 9/11.
A police state depends on terror in order to justify its' existence, both in committing acts of terror and in having acts of terror committed upon it. Certainly governmental acts of terror such as Waco and Tianenmen Square come to mind. However it is acts of terror committed upon the government -- often with that government's prior knowledge and deliberate non-prevention -- that advances the police state system. An example of this would be Hitler and how he used the Reichstag fire to advance the Nazi party into absolute control of the German government. The Oklahoma City bombing has been called "Clinton's Reichstag fire", because the legislation for the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996 was introduced on February 10, 1995, fully two months before the Oklahoma bombs!2
February 27, 1933: A Dutch communist named Marinus van der Lubbe is found at the scene and charged with arson. [He is later found guilty and executed]. Nazi propaganda identified him as also being Jewish, capitalizing on the hatred of the people. The next day, President Hindenburg and Chancellor Hitler invoke Article 48 of the Weimar Constitution, which permits the suspension of civil liberties in time of national emergency. This Decree of the Reich President for the Protection of the People and State abrogated the following constitutional protections:
·
Free expression of opinion
·
Freedom of the press
·
Right of assembly and association
·
Right to privacy of postal and electronic communications
·
Protection against unlawful searches and seizures
·
Individual property rights
·
States' right of self-government
Sound familiar? It should. You will find that all this and much more is contained in the "USA Patriot Act" so named because the authors wanted to send a message to American patriots: "You're next". With this law, Bush instituted sweeping new powers to domestic law enforcement and intelligence agencies, eliminating the checks and balances that insured that federal powers were not abused.
Historians disagree on who is actually responsible for the Reichstag Fire: van der Lubbe acting alone or as part of a Communist plot, or the Nazis themselves in order to create a catalyzing incident. Writers such as Klaus P. Fischer feel that most likely the Nazis were involved. But regardless of who actually planned and executed the fire, it is clear that the Nazis immediately took advantage of the situation in order to advance their cause at the expense of civil rights. The Decree enabled the Nazis to ruthlessly suppress opposition in the upcoming election. The same could be said of the US federal government in the wake of 9/11 and OKC.3 Think of that when the 2004 elections come up and the fix is in, and the outrage people will have when the least favored candidate is elevated to high office.
Together with other legislation such as the antiterrorism act of 1996, the circle of police state control is achieved, short of the open repudiation of the Constitution.
The Constitution and the people that support, defend and uphold it have withstood the battering winds of tyranny because that "right major crisis" has not come along yet. Though many thought 9/11 was "the big one", it is clear through the words of many politicians that we have only seen the beginning of what is already becoming known as the "coming century of terror". The global police state apparatus is depending on many more 9/11-type attacks of possibly a chemical, biological, or even nuclear catastrophe to instill sufficient terror in the people to compel them to surrender their freedoms.4 (See my postscript comments)
It is also notable that terrorists depend on an ever-increasing police state, such as the kind of oppression on the Palestinian people (some of which are Christians!) by the Israelis. By encouraging and pushing the target government to adopt ever more harsher tactics in suppressing the people, terrorists hope to push frustrated individuals into solitary acts of terrorism in retaliation, or to recruit people to their cause. This in turn causes the target government to adopt even harsher measures, and the cycle goes on...
To this, we are told that we must give up all of our freedoms in the name of security, peace, and safety. Our answer must be NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!
"It is...time for Americans to get used to a lessening of our freedoms..."
- Congresswoman Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX), April 1995
"They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety." - Benjamin Franklin

POSTSCRIPT: Since this article was originally published, several of my predictions have come true, such as the passage of DSEA 2003 (aka "Patriot 2"), and the March 11, 2004 bombing of a train in Italy (aka "3/11"). The USA invaded Iraq on many false pretexts, including the notion that Iraq was responsible for 9/11 and because Saddam is Osama's pal (yeah, right). Yet, Bin Laden remains at large. Orwell was only 20 years off, and now we have our modern-day "Goldstein" in Bin Laden ...a perpetual bogeyman for what Tom Ridge admitted is a "permanent war".
Even open repudiation of the Constitution now seems likely, with General Tommy Franks' prediction that the next 9/11-style terror attack in the USA will trigger the suspension of the Constitution: "...the Constitution will likely be discarded in favor of a military form of government..."
Even though the US Constitution, Article IV, Section 4 states; "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government", this is what some people in very high places have in store, and God help us all if they are ever stupid enough to try that!
Our Constitution represents the heritage of freedom that gave birth to this nation. It guarantees to us a constitutional Republic with a special, not general government limited to certain duties and obligations, with checks and balances and separation of powers. Nothing, not even this contrived "war" on "terrorism" can be used to justify the arrogation of unlimited emergency powers, let alone the abolition of our foundational documents.
Only those interested in enslaving America would wage war on the People by suspending the Constitution and imposing martial law. Such people are worse than criminals, they are traitors by definition. I fact, is this not the epitome of treason?
It is our position that any official, overt abandonment of the Constitution and the suspension of natural Liberties under martial law, for any duration and under any circumstance is on its' face an Act of War against We, the People of these united States. If that happens, do not look to the militia, because the People will not wait for our guidance. The citizen militia can only act as a calming influence and source of individual restraint for so long; some Americans will just go and do it.
I fear that the intention of the string-pullers behind the scenes is to do precisely what I have predicted, in spite of all common sense... and if I am right, then these people had better heed the words of Richard Crenna as Colonel Samuel Trautman in the movie 'First Blood': "Don't forget one thing; bring a good supply of body bags".
If you find such a prediction disquieting, then ponder these words from President John F. Kennedy: "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."
